Welcome to Sunday school at Woodville Baptist Church

4/7/22

Greetings in Jesus’ name!

I feel humbled and privileged to invite you to our Sunday school program. It is a great honor for me to welcome each and every one of you who has come to attend in the past, those who currently attend, and those yet to get involved in our classes to come and worship with us on God’s teachings.

Allow me to thank our heavenly Father for allowing us the opportunity through our Sunday school program to learn of Him. We thank God because of who He is and how He has prepared much for us to study and meditate on with His Word.

We all know from the Bible that where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, the presence of God is upon them. During this program we want everyone to learn about the Lord.

We know that we have new members who are joining us for the first time in our Sunday School program, so let me take this wonderful opportunity that the Lord has granted to me to welcome you! I would also like to tell members who have not been here for a while to come back and fellowship with us in his teachings.

Our Sunday School program is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to learn more about the Lord and have a stronger connection with him. Let me encourage you all to take the step and come to lay your spiritual foundation on Sunday morning’s from 10-10:50am.

I know the Lord of God is with us.

As we begin each Sunday School class, we pray that the will of God will be manifested. We ask our Loving Lord to fill us with the knowledge of truth, give us the spirit of understanding, and shower us with His wisdom so that what we learn today will be applied in our daily lives.

Feel welcome and God bless you!

"A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." Proverbs 17:17

By way of introduction, we need to understand that God intends relationships and friendships to be the context in which He does some of His most important work in our lives. Today, let's look at 7 important things to remember about friendship.

  1. Everyone need friends to help them through life's difficult times. That's real friends: False friends will embarrass you.

  2. Those of us who have real friends know they couldn't live without them. They are of immeasurable value.

  3. Friends love enough to comfort you when you're wrong, and stand by you to help you through it.

  4. If you have one or more such friends you are rich, even wealthy, beyond measure.

  5. Those who do not cultivate committed friendships are poor indeed.

  6. Many things in life are not left to our choosing, but friendships are.

  7. Your choice in a friend is a responsibility that only you can shoulder.

I can't speak for you but I need good, honest and committed friendships in my life.

Think about it.

In a world filled with so many uncertainties, just what are we to do? Not only what are we to do, but what does God want us to know about life and all its ups and downs, all its valleys and mountains. The Bible does not teach that we should live in fear of these things. God wants us to live in His fullness and enjoy life in light of His blessings each day. God wants us to live the abundant life and so much more.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:10 Covid has played a role in causing so much death, heartaches, and despair. As I quoted a portion of (Hee Haws) song “gloom, despair, and agony on me”, many of us at many times have allowed ourselves to think on this line. God says we are over-comers, not people who should live in continual defeat.

In praying that soon God will allow something to make Covid and any other harmful virus to leave and never come back. The main thing that God wants us to know is that we can trust Him with all our hearts. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5,6 That means whole hearted trust. He is the author and finisher of our faith. God also wants us to share our faith with lost people. They are everywhere you look. At the Bank, in the school, and work, at Wal-Mart and no doubt next door.

I’m looking forward to better days. A day when smiles return to the faces of our friends and loved ones. I know life is not without its problems. Problems are often sent our way by God to provide greater opportunities.

As Gods Children we need to look for the possibilities in the midst of the problems. Gods people have always worked in this way. Just look at the prison epistles. All was written from behind cell bars by Paul himself. It was in prison that John Bunyon saw the great allegory that would later become Pilgrims Progress. Sometimes good things com from bad times.

Joseph learned this lesson in the hard way. He also learned that God hadn’t forsaken him. He understood that the world wants bad things to destroy us but he learned that God meant it all for his good and God’s Glory. But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them. Genesis 50:20,21

Charles Colson said that his lowest times as a believer was far more fulfilling than all his days in the White house when he was an unbeliever.

I guess it’s all in how we view God! Don’t give up or in looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Luke 21:28c
